Respect Your Individuality

Hello Everyone,

Your body is like no other. You are not your spouse, sister, brother, best friend, coworker, or the person in the magazine. Your life will change the moment you begin taking care of your mind, body, and soul in the way that is best for you.

Change Your Mind

Hello Ladies and Gents,

Weight No More

This one is an eye opener...

You know all those commercials talking about "High Fructose Corn Syrup"
is just "another kind of sugar"...

and Sugar is Sugar...right? WRONG!!

Infomercial Lies?

You know all those infomercials that promise their product will TURN YOUR FAT INTO MUSCLE?!

Did you know that it's physiologically impossible to do that?

Think of a steak...(yum)

no matter how many miles that cow walked around that pasture,

the fat on the cow will never "TURN INTO" meat.

But...you can BURN OFF fat and build muscle.

Hello Ladies,

It's important to keep the body guessing by changing eating habits. If the body becomes accustomed to the same foods, weight loss may stall.

Only One Pound

Hello Ladies,

Hello...do you know me? If you don't, you should.

I'm a pound of fat and I'm the happiest pound of fat that you would ever want to meet.

Want to know why?

Because no one ever wants to loose me.

I'm ONLY ONE POUND.

Just a pound!

I'm Back!

Hello Ladies,

I know I haven't been back in quite some time. I went to help a good friend with her new blog Beauty O'holic (which you can find by clicking on the name) and hopefully a new company....shhhh. It's still in the works.

I am back to talk about food and helping you succeed in eating what you want while maintaining the weight you want. If you are on a diet, I have many motivational quotes to help you stay focused.

Now that I am back, here are a few things to help us get started:

  • Weight loss is more about DESIRE than will power. List all your reasons for wanted to lose weight...add more reasons as you think of them. Make reading your list the first thing you do in the morning.

  • There will be some weeks that your progress doesn't show on the scale (ugh, don't you hate that), so in addition to our weekly weigh in, find other ways to determine how well you are doing:

    • Record your measurements, even if you only measure your waist (the most important measurement as far as health is concerned - just ask Dr. Oz). Check the measurement(s) against after 4 and 8 weeks.
    • Find a piece of clothing that doesn't fit as well as you'd like (or at all) and use it as a guide. This week you might not be able to zip or button. Check again after 4 and 8 weeks.
  • Make sure you are getting protein with each meal. This could be from lean meat, fish, skinless poultry, low fat or fat free dairy, beans and nuts (watch the fat content with nuts).
  • Protein helps keep your blood sugar stable so you don't have the mid-afternoon blood sugar crash that sends people racing to the vending machine.
Hope
